Three friends came together to to combat one of the biggest issues in the fashion industry - leather waste. That bonded leather had not already taken over in mainstream fashion houses shocked us, and thus, Fenix was born.
Around 75% of raw cowhide used in the manufacturing of leather garments is discarded as solid waste. At current rate, the leather industry will need to slaughter 430 million cows annually by 2025 to meet rising demand.
We searched for a supplier who could provide an eco-pragmatic option, without sacrificing style and quality. The leather industry will not go away over night, so we are working to increase efficiency and decrease wastage. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, our leather is born again.
